AALA (Adventure Activities Licencing Authority) Are a government sponsored authority and report directly to the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). The licence is only awarded to companies that have been inspected by AALA and are fully compliant with their very stringent and robust criteria. This will include qualifications, expertise, safety policies & procedures, risk assessments & operating protocols. The licence was put in place for the safeguarding of under 18's whilst on certain outdoor pursuits and activities. We have been awarded the licence to cover our kayak, stand up paddle board & kayak-steering activities. It is illegal for any company to offer accompanied trips, guided tours or suchlike to under 18's unless accompanied by their legal parent. This will include if the trip includes your children along with friends and/or family that are also under 18. You will undoubtedly find companies that will offer guided trips that are not licensed for a discounted price! These companies will be operating illegally and most likely will be uninsured and unqualified. We strongly recommend ensuring any company you book with are AALA licensed.
